Located on the site of Liege-Bierset Airport (east of Belgium). Lachs benefits from a strategic position placed on a crossroads leading to the main economic centers of Europe.
- Getting to Liege by car
A comprehensive roads and motorways network (E40, E25, E42 and E313) means that Liege is very easy to reach by car from the main Belgian and European destinations.
With its 7-star shaped motorway links, Liege features among the main communication networks in Europe. The Province has 250 km of motorway. Austria, Italy, Scandinavia and even Eastern European countries can be reached within one day given the smooth traffic flows

- Getting to Liege by boat
The Port of Liège is located in the middle of the large “Rhin-Mosan” basin which has one of the most comprehensive navigation networks in the world. It is directly linked to the ports of Antwerp (via the Albert canal), Rotterdam (via the river Meuse and the Juliana canal) and Dunkirk. The Liege port authorities (P.A.L.) manages 26 different quays in and around the city of Liege. Liege’s port system has been the 2nd largest European river port since 1999. Liege also welcomes yachtsmen who are keen to take pleasure in the yacht marina and its famous “diver” monument.
- Getting to Liege by plane
The national airport is in Zaventem and can be reached by car from Liege in 45 minutes. There are also frequent direct trains connecting Zaventem and Liege.
Liege airport is in Bierset, on the E42 motorway.
Although Liege airport is the first European airport to focus its policy on freight business development (being in the middle of the Golden Triangle Paris-Amsterdam-Frankfurt, which handles 66% of the European air freight, 75% if London is added), it also caters for transporting passenger to major tourist destinations.
Road vehicles can easily access the airport given its location at the motorway exit. The airport is also located immediately next to the “Liege Logistics” park, which includes a bi-modal road and rail transport system.
Finally we are working on three establishments which will welcome a TGV Freight regarding to the economic development of Liege airport.
- Getting to Liege by train
With 3.454 km of rail tracks, the network of Belgium’s national railway company (SNCB) is one of the most comprehensive and modern in Europe.
Liege city has three train stations in the city centre and has capacity for TGV (high-speed train). Right in the centre of the strategic London-Paris-Berlin triangle, TGV, Thalys and ICE trains now travel 8 times a day to France and up to 10 times a day to Germany, without
forgetting the various possible daily connections with London when taking the Eurostar from Brussels.
The people of Liege are currently
looking forward to the upcoming relocation of their main train station
“Guillemins”. The station will move to a new building using futuristic
architecture and directly accessible by the motorway.

Liège Airport in the middle of the golden Triangle

Liege Airport is just in the middle of the Triangle “Paris –Amsterdam-Frankfurt”, where you can reach up to 70 millions customers within less then 350 km.
The average GDP per person in this triangle is above 28.000$ per year.
Westbound, London and the economical of the center of the U.K. can be served with 8 hours of truck drive, including ferry.
All in all, over 125 million people can be reached within a radius of less then 500 km from Liege.
